Our Team

Meet the Long Term Care Rx team working hard to provide the best possible care to our patients and facilities.

James Anderson, RPh, President, Owner

Education: St. Louis College of Pharmacy Class of 1985

Jim started out in Retail pharmacy, franchising his first Medicine Shoppe in 1986. In the following years, he would grow to 3 retail pharmacies across St. Louis. During this time, he started to see that long term care facilities were an under served market. Over the course of 15 years, he worked and grew his long term care pharmacy, eventually closing all three Medicine Shoppes and opening what we now know today as Long Term Care Rx.  Jim has owned and operated Long Term Care Rx, as a closed door pharmacy, since 2004. He has over 30 years of experience in providing to long term care facilities.

From 1993 to 1996 Jim was an Instructor for Introduction to Pharmaceutical Care – OTC’s for second year pharmacy students. He has served on a number of boards and committees including serving as president of the Association of Illinois and Missouri Medicine Shoppes and serving a two-year term on the board of Medicine Shoppe International’s National Advertising Program. Jim has presented posters at the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists’ national meeting and the American Medical Directors Association’s national meeting.

He is the proud father of four grown children, two of whom work in the pharmacy.
